Well-planned Logistics

The accumulated wastes from the surrounding areas are delivered directly to the waste utilization plant by refuse collection vehicles. The plant is centrally located within the disposal zone, so only short distances need to be travelled. Waste from more distant areas can be delivered by rail. Via its private railway connection, the AVA has access to the German rail network, Deutsche Bahn.
Three weight scales are installed in the truck arrival areas. The tare (empty) weight of the vehicles which arrive regularly is already stored in the computer. The weight of the load itself is therefore easily determined. The type of waste and its place of origin are also registered here. The incoming material is then forwarded to the various plant facilities according to its properties (household refuse, bio waste, recyclables, etc.)
Direct deliveries of household and industrial waste of all kinds (except for hazardous wastes) can be made at the “Small Quantity Delivery Point” of the AVA on Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. till 12 noon.
